Right to Buy

The Right to Buy can be exercised by any secure tenant who was formally a tenant of Boston Borough Council before the stock transfer took place in November 1999, and is not a bankrupt or has a possession order against them, and who occupies a property which is not exempt.

The price you pay will depend upon the valuation and the discount you are entitled to.

However there is a maximum discount of £24000.00.

If you do not have the Right to Buy there is another scheme to purchase your property called the Right to Acquire and you may qualify for this instead. This works in a similar way to the Right to Buy but the discount is set at £9000.00.

If you wish to know more, or if you would like an application forms please contact your Area Team or access our Right to Buy Leaflet below.
