Boundary Disputes
Should you find yourself in the middle of a boundary dispute with your neighbours please think about the items below:
- Discuss the problem with your neighbour
- Boston Mayflower can provide scale plans
- Boundary posts are often already in place
- Permission is required to erect fencing
- Fencing should be no higher that 2 meters at the back and 1 metre at the front
- Generally speaking when looking directly at the property the fencing/boundary on the right hand side of your home is your responsibility (however this is only a guide)
- If the property next door is an Owner/Occupier there will be a record of boundary responsibilities and who owns what land
- Boston Mayflower can arbitrate in boundary disputes between tenants but our decision is final
