Each rent week starts on a Monday.

Rent is payable in advance. So, for example, if you are paying weekly, you should pay 1 week’s rent each Monday to cover the rent payable for that week.

You are putting your tenancy at risk if you miss payments or make payments late without our agreement.

Rent is charged over 48 weeks which means that there are 4 weeks each year when you do not have to pay rent. These weeks are shown on the payment record card that we send you annually at the beginning of April. If you have arrears you should disregard these ‘rent free’ weeks and continue to pay off your debt.

A blank copy of the rent payment card is available here for download.

Receipts and Statements

Always get a receipt for payments you have made.

Keep these receipts until you are sure we have adjusted your rent account correctly to record all your payments.

We will send you a rent account statement every 3 months and are happy to provide statements at other times on request.

To request a statement please email us at rents@bostonmayflower.org.uk or call 01205 318500 and ask your Housing Team.

We hope to introduce a system in 2007 so that you can view your own rent account over the internet. Watch out for news about this.

Refunds

If your account is in credit we will be happy to send you a refund. As rent is payable in advance the amount of the refund will depend on the timing of your next anticipated payment.

To request a refund please email us at rents@bostonmayflower.org.uk or call 01205 318500 and ask your Housing Team. Alternatively we have attached a refund request form for you to complete, sign and return to your Housing Team.
